Obituary of Peter Blain
Peter Brian Blain was a dedicated husband and father. He and his wife, Ann, met at Lerczak’s in the 60’s and shared 53 years together as husband and wife. He was a proud father to his two daughters, Lisa and Laura, who he spent many days playing at Lakeshore Little League with. He also had a beagle named Briget who he loved like part of the family. Peter was a no-nonsense guy, known for his dry sense of humor and to-the-point attitude. He enjoyed singing, reading, painting and drawing. He created paintings of special family moments as Christmas gifts for his family one year. He was very proud of his Irish and Scottish heritage. He joked about reading the “Irish sports page” of the newspaper – by which he meant the death notices. He could Drink like a Scot, too. He requested that his pallbearers be the same guys who carried him out of the bar.
Peter enjoyed working out. He hit the gym every day and had a group of guys he regularly worked out with. Peter was a lover of sports. He played football for his alma mater, Butler University, and then spent 9 years playing for the Lackawanna Steelers. He went to see the Bills play as often as he could.
